My First Blogging Anniversary Giveaway

Here it is…
approximately ¼ to ½ yard of each fabric

To enter just leave a comment on this post about anything – your favorite holiday, what you’re reading, the best quilting lecture/class you’ve ever attended, what you did this weekend or something else you don’t mind sharing. I’ll pick a winner on Mon. Dec. 5 around 9am EST.

As I write this, my daughter is flying back to Georgia. We had a nice, quiet visit. The quiet is very unusual. She is usually in and out with friends but everyone was away this break. Lucky for me. I enjoyed our day of shopping, sitting quietly while she did schoolwork and I stitched, going out to eat with the men in our family, and decorating the Christmas tree. And I can’t forget our Thanksgiving feast at my parents. There were only 20 of us this year. Great food and company – Thanks Mom and Dad!

Holiday gift idea - One for the Money by Janet Evanovich. This book is laugh out loud hilarious. Ask for it or give it to a friend. My daughter was complaining that she wasn't getting enough schoolwork done despite the time she was sitting with her computer so I got a copy out of the library for her. I think she needed to get her mind off her studies for a while. She read it in less than 24 hours. The movie comes out January 2012 so read it soon.

I took advantage of nice weather and everyone together to take our holiday greeting card photo.

I’m thankful for my kids.

Don't forget to leave a comment!

  1. I'm thankful for my children too - you have a sweet picture of your trio.
Thanks for the book recommendation - hoping for more fiction reading in 2012.

This weekend we had beautiful quiet time together and started some holiday decorating.

  2. What a beautiful giveaway. I've really enjoyed following your blog, and look forward to more in the new year. :)

  3. Nice looking kids!
Had only 24 of our clan of 60+ at my sister's for Thanksgiving. Next year I host DH's family. There are only 22 total in that clan.
I have spent the rest of the weekend piecing, cleaning, and putting away the fall decor and gradually getting up the Christmas things. All the while I have had old black and white Christmas movies playing in the background.
Very lovely fabrics for your give away, Maureen. I've been at blogging for 6 months now and was thinking I should do a giveaway, but I haven't been able to get my act together and find something to give. I really enjoy your blog--you seem to be a genuinely good person and it is always pleasant to visit here.

  25. Happy Blogiversary! Congrats on the one year mark. I love blogging - it's like a quilt show every day when you have the internets! Love those cheddars in your group of fabrics.

Very cute kids! I'm thankful for my kids too. They turned out good and I love spending time with them.

I'm going to be making pillowcases for everyone in the family again this year. They all seem to enjoy them, and I have fun picking out the fabrics. I need to start shopping - first in the stash, then in the quilt store - so I can get a move-on and get these done with little to no stress. What are you making for Christmas presents?

  26. Love the smiles spread across your family photo. Great looking group.
The best workshop I ever attended was a weekend of sessions at our LQS with guest author/designer Pat Speth. She's designed fabrics for Windham and was involved very early in the 5-inch charm pack craze with her Nickel Quilts books. Her lesson sessions were informative, lively, and fun. We worked on blocks for our selected quilt, and she constantly bombarded us with hints and ideas and inspiration.

Hearty congratulations on your blogaversary, and thanks for offering the gorgeous fabrics.

  27. I am reading The Jakarta Pandemic on my brand-new Kindle - which I won! I love it! I love your give-away fabrics too - would be great to win them.

  28. Great family photo - as lovely as the pictures of our kids when they were little are there's something very special about a family photo of them once they're all grown up - probably because along the way they have their differences, don't always get along and are often living geographically away from each other and the home base - in the UK we don't do Thanksgiving - maybe we should
