A finished top-
38" x 50"
I plan to use this Barbara Brackman fabric for the back.
It's Jo Morton's Rhubarb Crisp pattern.
I'll probably just machine quilt diagonal lines.
Guess what!?! I had lots of flying geese left over. I wonder if there are 192 of them. Maybe it is time for a little giveaway. Stay tuned!
We in Virginia had less damage than we feared from Hurricane Sandy. Lots of rain, howling winds and power outages in my area. Luckily, our power flickered just once and stayed on. My thoughts and prayers go out to those severely affected by the storm.
I have a bit of a cold and it is starting to go to my chest. My favorite remedy is Cold Season Yogi Tea. It takes a little getting used to but I think it helps. I breathe in the steam and try to drink as much of it as I can. I watch a lot of TV when I'm not feeling well. Yesterday, it was mostly HGTV. I like House Hunters and the Property Brothers. This afternoon I think I'll turn on Love it or List it.
This top looks so fantastic. I love stars so much.

ReplyDeleteGreat quilt top; just love the colors.
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear that Sandy wasn't too much of a problem for you.
Couldn't agree more about tv when not feeling well. Normally, I don't watch much at all, but it sounds good when I'm under the weather.
What a great name for this quilt! It is so warm and wonderful! The backing is so pretty, you'll have to flip it over now and then and use the other side. : )
ReplyDeleteSounds like you got about the same as my daughter in NH. My niece has not been so lucky. Home is intact, but they are basically stranded without power or water. So many trees over the road in their area, and it is not a highly populated area so no one is rushing to take care of those trees. They prepared well, so they hope to be okay, but with three little girls, it is no picnic.
Wow this is a gorgeous quilt :)
ReplyDeleteWell done Maureen - it is beautiful! Love the colours and love the fabrics you have used. The red backing fabric is perfect too. Glad to hear the hurricane was not too bad there - must have been a great worry.

What a beauty, Maureen! Really love your fabrics, and so glad you didn't lose power during the storm. Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteOh Maureen, the quilt top is beautiful! I love the olde timey look of the Civil War fabrics. And now you are rich with the extra FG! I always float a little Napolean brandy into my sicky-tea with honey and lemon to relax the muscle aches. Get well soon!
