Look what came in the mail today! My daughter sent me these Dutch fabrics. Early one morning I got an email with a photo saying - hey mom, we passed this quilt shop in Amsterdam. Do you want me to get you anything?
Do I!?!
I sent her links to my favorite Dutch blogs (see my sidebar) so she could get an idea of what I like and said just make sure it isn't something I can't get in the U.S. Maybe they are available in the U.S. but not in rural Virginia.
I'm so pleased and will ask her a million questions about the shop when she gets home next month.
It looks like a half meter of the red and a fat quarter of the others. A quick search online shows that at least some of it is Josephine by Petra Prins.
I've never had a tree of life panel. So excited to dream about what this fabric will become.
What a thoughtful and lovely daughter you have! The fabric is beautiful and I'm sure you will enjoy using it!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! They are all very beautiful too!
ReplyDeleteWhat treasures you have Maureen but I think your daughter is your biggest treasure. Enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteVery exciting parcel to receive and what a lovely daughter to think of her mum.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your fabrics.
What a fun bundle you received! How sweet of your daughter to think of you and what you would like. After you have pondered upon their use, I will love seeing what you create with them. : )
ReplyDeleteFantastic! What a brilliant daughter you have, such good taste.
ReplyDeleteThe Dutch chintz is so pretty!! What an exciting package and a super sweet daughter. This fall I was lucky enough to receive some from some visiting Dutch cousins of my Mom. It's not exactly available in Canada either. It's awfully hard to cut into though I've found :0)
ReplyDeleteWow! Lucky you to have such a thoughtful daughter! Those fabrics are beautiful, and what a luscious T.O.L. panel! It will be fun to see what you use those for!
ReplyDeleteLucky you! Lovely fabrics......we can get it here at Festival of Quilts, but it is not cheap......
